Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire brings back a lot of familiar faces for the latest entry in the franchise, but there's one notable character from the original film who doesn't appear.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire reunites the surviving original Ghostbusters, explaining how and where they fit into the world that has largely accepted a new generation of Ghostbusters.
This also extends to supporting characters and minor villains. Given the world-building throughout the film and the ending of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, all of this sets up multiple ways for the two generations of Ghostbusters characters to further interact and work together in future stories.
They're also a surprisingly sweet way to connect the new Ghostbusters film to the original. This reveals what became of characters like Walter Peck, whose fears about the Ghostbusters being dangerous are finally proven correct..
There are two exceptions, however. One is Louis Tully, whose absence can be chalked up to Rick Moranis' retirement.
